Robyn Palmer, Vice President of LRS Federal, has been appointed by Maryland Governor, Larry Hogan, to serve on the One Maryland Blue Ribbon Commission.
The purpose of the Commission, detailed in Senate Bill 662, is “to review the current State Procurement process and develop policy recommendations to ensure transparency and greater participation of businesses located in the State in State contracting. The Commission will report its findings and recommendations to Governor and the General Assembly”.
Ms. Palmer will serve on the Commission as a representative of the Maryland Chamber of Commerce, of which LRS Federal is a member. Of the appointment, Ms. Palmer said, “I am honored that the Governor has appointed me to this Commission. As an executive of a Maryland-based Service-Disabled Veteran Owned small business, I find the charter of this Commission to be particularly relevant not only to my own company, but to many of our business peers in this state. I look forward to working with the other One Maryland Blue Ribbon Commission members to analyze the State’s procurement process and explore how to better business opportunities for Maryland-based companies.”
The Commission is slated to present its findings and recommendations by 31 December 2015.
