USACE Forth Worth District, New World Screwworm Sterile Insect Production Facility Construction Phase Services
LRS Federal is providing multidisciplinary Construction Phase Services in support of the design-build delivery of the U.S. Department of Agriculture's New World Screwworm Sterile Insect Production Facility at Moore Air Base in Edinburg, Texas. The approximately $610 million project will establish the nation's first domestic biosecure production facility dedicated to combating the New World screwworm, strengthening U.S. agricultural biosecurity through the production of up to 300 million sterile insects per week.
Serving as the Government's technical advisor during construction, LRS provides construction management support, quality assurance, engineering oversight, commissioning, project controls, cost and schedule analysis, and contract administration throughout project execution. Our team performs construction observations, design and submittal reviews, commissioning oversight, issue resolution, and compliance verification with Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC), contract requirements, and applicable codes and safety standards. Through these services, LRS helps the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and USDA manage the successful delivery of a highly specialized laboratory and industrial facility supporting a critical national mission.
